Something that wasn’t part of the official SFG blog post today but came up on discord, is that SFG is now working with Broken Egg Games for creating an official licensed range of tokens!
No official info yet as to what they come up with or when, but this is still interesting news.
This US based creator had some guild ball stuff since way back on their webshop already a while ago, but if they’re getting a license to create new shiny things for us, I know many who’ll surfing with their spending pants on.
Speculatively, this can be connected to the fact that Muse on Minis seem to have gone under, at least for the forseeable future.
It looked likely that they were going to get a license deal with SFG a while back, but then due to other reasons they have had to close down entirely.

Token preferences
Around a month ago, Jamie Perkins (SFG) asked on discord how people regard tokens with the “Close Control used” concept. The responses were mixed; some like them and some don’t, maybe leaning a bit towards that more people seem to not really use them.
We also noted that writable tokens are preferred by many, so we might see something on that from Broken Egg as well.
For me personally, I would much rather prefer tokens that say “Unpredictable Movement ready” which is to say not used yet and so on, and that they’re taken away after the ability is popped instead of the other classic way around. Ready-tokens just makes a lot more sense to me than Used-tokens. It shifts the point of the tokens from “now you can take advantage of this” towards mimizing Negative Play Experiences by reminding the players of abilities that models have. It’d never be a catch-all, but still 🙂
Interesting to see what turns up in the near future!
