Late sunday evening we got the latest update about the POD range. Here SFG let us know that the current issues are not yet ironed out enough to validate releaseing new minis and calling for a new wave of orders.
While in a way this is disappointing of course, it is SO good that they do the right thing instead of what they “should” do. Basically everyone I’ve seen mention it say that we understand. This is the better decision.
Some of the info shared also sounds really good. Both that Quality Control at the printing partner can be expected to improve drastically, and also that around 85% of all orders from wave 1 is finished. That’s still some backlog to take care of, but it’s nice to get a rough number on how it’s going.
We did also get to see this alt sculpt for Mist, that will firmly mark him as an Order player in the crossover box set when it is finally released. Looks really good!

“As you’ll know, this week was slated for the release of the Minor Guild crossover minis. We’ll be pushing that back for a couple of reasons.
1. First off, we received the batch of test samples earlier this week, and there are still some tweaks we want to make before we’re happy to make these live.
2. Second off, we’d like to reduce the outstanding orders further first. Although a significant number have been completed (more than 85% of the total orders to date), we want to be sure everything is working as it should be before adding a new wave of orders into the mix.
To help with this, our partners have allocated a dedicated section of printers with dedicated staff specifically for Steamforged orders, also helping to ensure consistent QC. We’ve also recently added a new member to the Steamforged support team, to help speed up response times.”
