We’ve had so much to do and talk about in the last two months, and even though som who ordered POD early still haven’t gotten their orders, so much has happened. There seems to be no end to the need to talk and think about Guild Ball.
But what is next?
We know that SFG aimed to release crossover models to the POD during the week starting with 1st of april. That is almost only 1 week left ’til that right now.
It would be perfectly reasonable to postpone that release until the issues and delays at MyMiniFactory have been resolved and they have cought up, but hopefully they will be tested and checked, and deemed ready to launch.
Getting access to buying only the crossover models for certain teams will be great, and hopefully we will see some thematic alternative versions of those models as well.

We know that the Lumberjacks Guild was finished by the GBCP, and that they would not enter the pitch officially with the 4.6 errata.
It’s been said by more than one GBCP steering member that the first Lumberjacks meeting with them and SFG will be end of march, so likely that is during the coming week.
Hopefully there will be at least a little something in the way of spoilers when that meeting is done. I’ve been gathering what little spoilers there have been on the GBCP discord as well, so watch this space for another little Lumberjacks post soon.
Hopes and estimations were flying around a while ago, that it’s likely to see them released during Q2 this year (before the end of june), but it was also mentioned that if the SFG meetings about Lumberjacks conclude that changes will be made and more playtesting is needed, then it will likely take longer, towards autumn.

We know that SFG are looking into license deals with third parties to produce “official guild ball”stuff.
We don’t yet know what exactly is being looked at though, or at what scale it will be. But at least it’s not at all unlikely that we will see tokens and measuring widgets and such in the near future. Maybe even scenic bases and more terrain?

But after the subjects above, there’s is precious little we know.
That is intentional, and it’s working. We are so curious!
There has been talk about deciding what
Minor Guild should come next, after the Lumberjacks.
We will very likely have to wait for more info on this until after the Lumberjacks are done and released, but this is a huge part of going forward; seening the game “completed” with at least all majors finally getting their minor guild.
Previous community votes have dictated that Blacksmiths should get Knights and that Brewers should get “The Circus” but both these results seem to be up for debate again. Especially since the option to vote for “The Thieves Guild” as a minor to Brewers is a missed opportunity here.
For me personally I would like to see both Entertainers and Circus as other separate guilds, and that Brewers could get something more thematically similar to their maffia identity.

We do not yet have any formal info about what neither of GBCP nor SFG thinks about the last two minors to be made. We can probably safely say that the intent is to finish all minors, but we still don’t know the road map towards that.
During the Q&A video early february (I really hope they will do another one of those sometime soon!) it was mentioned that Guild Ball would be brought up during the GAMA event where SFG talk to a lot of retailers and other business contacts.
We have still to hear anything about how that went, and if it will affect Guild Ball at all in the near future. But the hot take from The Bench is that some kind of retailer support will be proposed. Like something for instore events or retailer-ordering POD products to hold in stock, or the like.

Another interesting thought that has been voiced is that releasing brand new Gameplan cards would be a fairly easy way to give the whole game an update.
Since this is not official in any way, and just speculation, we don’t know what shape a new gameplan deck would really have. But a new deck of gameplans even now in the middle of season 4 should be perfectly doable, and very very interesting.

Will we see another errata this year?
Some think so, saying that there are more models that need to be touched soon, since the 4.6 errata only touched those models that were touched by the GBCP during the years of SFG absence. Would that be 4.7 or 5.0 then?
Others deem it unlikely to see another errata this year, saying that even though it would be great to have new updates to models who need it, it is too soon to do another errata this year.

This concludes this speculation session. Some things we know, but most things we don’t really know at all. Official info about an updated Timeline is likely to come within the coming weeks. Here’s to hoping it wont take long, and that it will be awesome.
See you on the pitch ballers!
