Famous official SFG league variant, for playing out the development of one or more specific models from rookie to full guildball players. Simple but brilliant, with lots of depth as all rookie models have loads of different options on how to evolve them over time during the league/campaign/event.

Take the cards beloning to your rookie marked ‘R’ at the top. Choose a path for your rookie by selecting Blue or Red for the card front and Green or Purple for the cardback. This defines what abilities your rookie will have during the league. This selection can not be altered once chosen.
After each game using your rookie player, you may upgrade ONE of the cards you’ve chosen to it’s next level. To do this, pick one of your current cards and replace it with the next number in the same colour. The first card upgrade after ‘R’ is number ‘1’. You may do this after each game where you played with your rookie, until both cards are at level ‘5’.

Note that the Rookies came with physical card decks then, which is why the rules specify card backs and fronts.
