There are tons of old players returning to this wicked beautiful game, but there are also a lot of new players who get into Guild Ball now with the renewed hype and international activity.
- But how do we get “a few players” to become a local community that get together and play regularly?
- How do you get new players to buy into the game?
- How do you host events?
All these things can be daunting or difficult in various ways. Many agree that visibility and accessibility is the most important thing; making sure the game is seen played and that people can at least try it or join to have a look. Regular playing in an open setting where people see the game being played, that probably makes the biggest difference.
Now with the free Kick Off box community-builders are encouraged to print as many extra teams as you like, and have them accessible for interested people to borrow or buy and so on. It makes a ton of difference to just have the minis in front of you as a new player. That, and that someone who knows the game is showing you the basics and being friendly and including to all that wanna try.
The youtube channel Heroic Play have a great video about this where they discuss a lot of these points.
Have a look!
