Most of all the new Guild Ball “Print on Demand’ models we’ve seen are great, or with very little issues. But during the last few days there has been evidence of the quality problems that SFG adressed in a statement last friday.
The quality issues are at MMF (MyMiniFactory) which is the 3rd party printing all the POD orders. From all that has been sen so far by The Bench, none of this is a fault of SFG. Both friday and today SFG have made clear that they are in close contact with MMF, and latest informal info was just a few minutes ago, that they had a meeting with MMF today and a new official statement will be coming soon.
We really appreciate SFG handling this as quickly and resolutely as possible, and we look forward to getting more word on the situation.

The worst case we’ve seen so far are these pictures above; someone recieved minis for the Butchers Guild that weren’t cured properly. Almost like someone on MMF wasn’t told that the prints don’t dry in the box.
Resin that isn’t cured results in highly toxic sticky residue covering parts of models.
This makes it a whole other issue than just Quality Control. When it comes to 3D printing there always a certain level of random print failures, but this is way more serious.
A few models seem to have been structurally hollowed, presumably to save resin and print time, but not washed and cured inside correctly. Some have voiced that prints as small as these (also including goals and such) should never need to be hollow like what we see here. While it is only speculation at this time, it’s been argued that it’s being done by MMF to cut costs, at the expense of customer health and SFG trademark.
This is part of what the SFG update on friday covered. These issues being reported are new and weren’t there in initial test runs. SFG are finding out at the same time as the community, and they’re taking action.
What should you do if you have this problem with your own recieved POD models?
Wash your hands, and all of the miniatures. Wash all spaces they may have touched, and the wash your hands thoroughly again.
Then contact SFG and inform them about your situation immediately. You should also contact MyMiniFactory directly, and make sure they know about this very serious issue.
Support tickets on SFG website are at estimated 5 days backlog, but they are watching for problems like these to try and sort them out as quickly as possible.

On a personal note, I feel for you SFG, it’s like this game is a little cursed. I hope that this can be contained quickly with minimal loss of customers and GB hype.
Many are keeping spirits up and hoping that all goes well for both us and SFG in this, and so does The Bench!
