Hey look at this! There’s a new guy on the pitch.
Guther from Tennessee (goose09 on Discord) has made a big effort to make a new online tool for Guild Ball. They have a community of ~10 people playing GB there locally, and Gunther’s so far spent 80-100 hours on building this new website as a hobby project.

Check it out!
I have looked at it and given some initial feedback, and I think thins can be really great.
It obviously all depends on how much people use it, but as long as it doesn’t add complexity or extra steps to handle I think it’s a really really nice thing.
If it can bring the community game statistics together as an additional layer on top of everything that already exists I think it can be awesome. The statistics for each individual model is cool as well, and that’s something that no other tool does so far.
Another thing I can really see a use for with this is when playtesting, to use the Logg/History function to easier get reminders of what happened in which order. I will personally use that part for sure when new things come up try out.
That can also be great when playing a game that is recorded for content, to get a log over what happened to ease commentary or such.
Many people have great memory for what happened in which order in a game, but I’m one of the people who don’t, so I see a great use for this.

From the introduction written by Gunther himself on discord:
Hey all!
I’ve been working on a live scoring web app for Guild Ball over the course of the last months.
Not only does it allow live scoring at the tabletop that is shared actively for viewers in the community, it also links directly with Vassal via an extension to the Guild Ball module that essentially live streams the game to the site, allowing viewers to see the digital pitch, all of the model stats and statuses, and automatically keeps detailed records for player, team, and individual model stats.
The goal is to make every game count, both at the tabletop and online. Your experience is shared with the whole community and isn’t just left between the two of you at the tabletop or in the vassal lobby.
You can use this at your tabletop if you want to have a game with cards linked directly to your opponent, ie no paper cards. Playbook (guildball.app) does this already, and this can be an alternative but it’s not meant to compete with them. This is a hobby project, and this is a hobby.
Currently GB Live is up and running, but i need some willing Vassal playtesters to iron out any bugs that may still exist. Please DM me on discord if you are a Vassal user and are interested. It is ready to roll and you can start today!
I have locked down sign ins without admin approval for now, which you need to access the scorekeeping function.
It automatically syncs all actions in Vassal with the scorekeeping web application, so no extra work on the players end when playing on Vassal. The best part is that is does everything for you. There really is no extra input, it’s all linked to Vassal operation.
It also integrates with a twitch livestream so you can have all the model stats and statuses on screen, run either by a moderator or the players themselves.
I would love to have this sync with Longshanks and Wartable and Playbook as well, but haven’t been able to do so yet.
The record keeping is very indepth due to the extension i added to the vassal module, which is two clicks to link it to your current guild ball module.
There is a bunch of random data and some test games in there currently to show how the site operates. Records are public view, so you should be able to get the jist there.
On your profile, you also are able to create custom lineups for each team, that will have their stats tracked in depth as well.

I hope to create more engagement, and hopefully aid in expanding the community. For new players and old players, statistics are usually interesting and engaging.
I understand everyone has their preferences. One plays wartable, the other vassal, the other only locally in person.
The benefit of a platform like this is bringing all of those things together in one unified space. It could be that way in the future.
Of course, this is a hobby and it was a hobby project for me that i am quite enjoying. I would love to be able to bring it all together with Longshanks and the others, but we haven’t had that conversation yet.
I appreciate your feedback and attention. Wish you all the best.

Even if it’s a fanmade project, it’s a pretty ambitionus one, and I for one am really stoked to see GB get more of this kind of action. Keep up the good work man!
I know some people on discord initially felt like “we’re fine with what we have, we don’t need this” and while this website might not be gamechanging for everyone anywhere, I think we as a community can do way WAY better towards someone who use their enthusiasm to create stuff around our favorite game.
Give it a few tries, use it if it suits you. If not, there can’t really be any harm in others finding a use for it. And if the vision comes true, to gather stats from everywhere into this; oh boy.
At the first few glances, I think it looks great.
See you on the pitch everyone!
