Catenaccio! – Blessyou / Salud / Gesundheit / Prosit 😉
SFG shows off another three new cards from the coming 2025 edition Gameplan Deck.
Love it!

The shipping is very expensive unfortunately, but I think we need to start expecting that with the world being what it is these days.
Also have a look at the other posts about new cards in the coming new Gameplan deck!
Here is a breakdown of all three cards that were previewed as part of this last teaser:
Rushed Back
Initiative +6
Influence +0
The first enemy model that returns to the pitch this turn after removing the Taken Out condition suffers the Bleed condition.
It may sound small, but this card can make a huge difference. I think overall this is a really strong card, in that it both gives a high initiative score and also carries a good effect. For a team like Fishermen there probably will seldom be a model taken out, and then it can be used only for it’s initiative. But for fighting teams it can be really good. Some mascots for example only have 3 HP when returning to the pitch, so the must be healed to not suffer again at end of turn.
Another thing I like about this card is that it makes perfectly clear that gameplan cards happen before models jog back in from being taken out – which is something that I feel like players often get wrong nowadays.

Pep Talk
Initiative +2
Influence -1
Once per activation, friendly models may use Bonus Time without spending MP.
Two important notes about this card. It says all your models, and secondly it really does say all your models. Jokes aside that means that it’s not only one of your models that get a free bonus time, it also means that even the captain and mascot gets the buff. This is why it’s so harsh on your initiative and influence pools, because it can be really really strong in some circumstances. A bonustimed Blind or Goad in the right place can swing a match.

Catenaccio
Initiative +5
Influence +0
Choose a friendly Squaddie model. The chosen model gains Backfield Presence.
(Backfield Presence: While attacking a model in posession of the ball, this model gains +2 TAC.)
Catenaccio is a soccer term that refers to a special strategy of really tight defense and keeping the opponent from having the ball – in a “if they don’t have the ball they can’t score” sort of way.
I still think it sounds like a sneeze though, thus the earlier “salud” above, hehe.
In terms of Guild Ball and not regular soccer, this card is super good both defensively and offensively. Anyone with opportunity to attack a ball holder with the intent of either stealing said ball or just beating the holder into the ground, will be super happy to have this buff.
Note also that it’s ANY ball as well, not just The Real Ball – if, for example, you ever feel like you want to try and kill an Order model who’s holding the Ball of Light.

So what do you think about these three cards? I love “spoiler season” in any games I play.
Will you order the new gameplan deck? I have preordered mine already for sure, shipping costs be damned.

A while after the physical deck has been released there will be free digital options to get the cards just like normal, promised by SFG openly. But at this time there is only the physical one that you get partly to be first with brand new physical stuff for the game, and partly to support the game we love.
Really looking forward to seeing all the other new cards being released!
Happy ballin’ everyone!
