In the last couple of weeks I’ve seen people here and there saying things like “Lumberjacks were ready for release and then suddeny they are months away” and overal worrying that SFG is ruining GBCP hard work.
That is not the case!
While it’s perfectly reasonable to wonder what’s happening, all is still very much in progress and there are no bad feelings between SFG and GBCP. Rather the other way around. The ever-inspiring mr Hat wrote a little about this today, to hopefully ease some lumberjack-hungry nerves around the globe.

“I’m going to mention this, and I hope people will believe my word for it.
While it really sucked at the time, we are very happy that SFG stopped the release of the earlier version of Lumberjacks. They would’ve not gotten a genuine clear identity, both visually as mechanically, as the previous “guild mechanic” was mostly just the inverse of a decently strong trait that was already in the game.
I’m not going into what exactly that mechanic was, as there still is a chance that some part of it will stay in the new iteration, but we’re 100% giving the Jacks a clear identity with never-before seen mechanics.
I’ve seen some of the new ideas and let me tell you: #mindblown
To be totally honest – we’ve started a collaboration, so they can’t do GB without us and vice versa. This means that when most of us went on holidays during the summer, work got halted. We’re only just picking up where we left off after a 1.5 month long hiatus. We’re talking to SFG again tonight, as a matter of fact!
I know this is just words and you hoped to have new toys to play with. Our apologies for getting your hopes up a while ago, but believe me when I say that it was for the better. Bear with us, we’ll deliver.”
