After the high interest from the previous post(s) about The Anatomists, the designers have updated both Caduceus and the Diagnosis condition.
Today we also get a look at the mascot; Quack!
DISCLAIMER: This is a fan made project that is not affiliated with SFG or the GBCP. Published by The Bench because cool content made by others always gets a place here.
First a look at the Guild Card, with updated rules text for Diagnosis, along with the typical flavour blurb commentary about the guild from another Guild Ball celebrity.

Diagnosis now reads:
Anatomist guild models gain +1 TAC when attacking a model suffering the diagnosis condition.
Anatomist guild models pay 1 less MP to use Encourage on a model suffering the diagnosis condition.
While some commented on the last post that diagnosis was too strong, the guild is very much built and balanced around it. They will have many ways they need to interact with it, and also have generally low TAC (as far as we’ve seen at least!) so that they will really need that boost.

Quack!
Pure genious. I really love this pun. π
The trait Doc’s Special Patient is missing the aura range, but it’s supposed to say 3″ there.
“He used to have Taking Flight. We removed it for Where’d They Go, because he couldn’t disengage after tackling the ball.” -GlassWalker80
But the discussion also went on to note that a mascot doesn’t really need to have an answer to that.
Also, other feedback has pointed out that ducks can’t dodge per se. So high on the future potential changes for Quack would be to change WTG to a version of Taking Flight without the movement buff, or something like that.
Will be interesting to hear what the playtesters (and all of you others as well!) think of the Real Bastard trait. It’s an interesting drawback. Makes this Leech (known so far only from the first team picture) have to chase the duck around on the pitch a little, if you want to use the ball with Quack. And since the Anatomists will be a lot about the ballgame as far as we’ve seen and heard, I’m guessing you might really want to.
Funny spontaneous thought, it would be hilarious if it had an ability named “Duck!” π
Could make a friendly model dodge or gain +1 def or something.

Below is the updated card for Cad the Captain. There might be call for more changes along the way, but this is what she will look like until the full guild is revealed and have been tested more.

One of the big feedback points coming from facebook after the first spoiler of Cad’s card, was that she was way too strong. Too durable and too fast, and generally over tuned.
While it is absolutely true that fan passion projects have a tendency to start out too strong rather than being weak, something interesting happened. Strong known players gave feedback on discord that she actually might not even have been that powerful at all, at least in her tuned down iteration that was posted there. So this is the middle ground, and combined with the slightly nerfed Diagnosis condition (which was good, I think) this is what she’ll look like for continued testing.
Change List
Now with these changes, the current cards will be considered locked in until the full guild is revealed. There will be a Change List instead – so that all things will still absolutely be subject of discussion and possible changes, but it will be handled in an orderly manner over time. Any bigger changes will be taken in an updated version of the whole guild after all/manymore models have been released.
Balancing is the hardest part, and that goes for all game design I think (speaking from some experience).
The basis for the guild is more or less set, in terms of play style and the intended role of each model within the guild. At this point testing is being done all the time, by the designers and other people.
Remember, all feedback is welcome and will be taken into account, especially feedback from playtesting later when enough models have been released to enable trying them out on the pitch.
It will be awesome to see the aforementioned paper proxies (like those on Longshanks) further down the road, so we can all playtest some creepy doctors.
Spoiler Season
Also worth mentioning here, that the spoilers for the Anatomists will continue to be only/mainly here on The Bench!
The writing here is my words, about what I’ve seen of the guild so far. What to post about is decided together, to pace it nicely, but each spoiler article is written by me and the content is designed by CultOf1s and GlassWalker80.
The agreement is only that stuff is sent here and will be posted, but I also send some feedback in return of course. But I’m just a happy and very satisfied sidekick. Down the road it will include more quotes and commentary from the designers when able; we’ll see when we get there.
Now get cracking on that feedback you want to write! π
